1. Only one restaurant within walking distance.

2. There is absolutely nothing within walking distance from the hotel except a Benningan's restaurant, so you have to be willing to take a cab anywhere else.

We turned our rental car in the next morning and without luggage we chose to walk back to the Hotel (Note there are not sidewalks or crosswalks in some places but it is only a 10 or 15 minute walk) There is a free train connecting the rental car facility to the airport and La Quinta has a free shuttle about every half hour but the time is probably shorter to walk it.
