5. After another 15 minutes of waiting, they did discount the room ($6/night more than the upgrade price increase we paid) and that token apology went a long way.

6. We lost $337!(that was with a 10% discount) We ended up driving though the area a day later, we couldn`t stay in town because we were off track with the rest of our trip, but we wanted to see Santa Monica and Venus Beach.

7. I was also annoyed that he did not offer us any sort of discount for either the inconvenience of a 45 minute check in or the inconvenience of switching us to a room type we did not reserve (particularly as we paid extra for a room not received).
