1. The overall atmosphere of the hotel and of the room was pleasant and welcoming, despite the signs in the parking lot encouraging guests to be careful to lock their cars and hide their belongings (always good advice no matter where you're staying).

2. The patio door was equipped with very substantial curtains, which was good because the parking lot is kept lit like a landing strip at night.
