4. We gave our server a very generous 40% tip, and then, when we checked out, we realized that they added a 20% tip to the original bill, then added our 40% tip to that, meaning that we actually paid a 60% tip - I am a big tipper, but that was ridiculous.

10. We ate one evening in the Ile St louis in the hotel- disaster - cold steak, rude staff when we complained, 'what do you want me do do about it?!' We should have refused to pay the bill but paid up and left _NO TIP there.
