1. It's a pleasant walk to the Marina to view the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz across the water.

2. Also near the Marina is the Palace of Fine Arts which is amazing to walk along the path of the huge artistic columns and under it's huge and amazing dome, it makes you feel like you are in ancient Greece in mythological times and it's magical.

3. This hotel is in an excellent location - a nice walk up the crooked part of Lombard, many choices of restaurants and bars within walking distance, jamba juice, starbucks and donut shop right around the corner.

6. To save a few bucks, pay the money for the microwave and refrigerator, then head to the Safeway in the Marina District (a nice walk thru the homes) and stock up on picnic supplies and breakfast items.

10. Maybe we got lucky, but even if it was full, there are places to park within walking distance and the metered parking is free after 10 p.m. There are plenty of places to eat, shop and walk to and feel safe.
