My partner being vegetarian I have to recommend the Golden Era just around the corner at 572 O'Farrell
Street
as great value for money and for Thai try Ar Roi Thai Noodles at 643 Post St.

On the edge of a less salubrious area (don't walk down Jones

towards Market St at night--only access by Taxi or from Geary St then up the last few meters).
