5. Easy to find, when you come from the north ( 101 ) take exit Lombardstreet, Downtown and you are entering Lombardstreet.

6. There is a city Muni bus stop (30 and 30x) just a block away which took us directly to the Wharf, Chinatown, Little Italy, and downtown within minutes so we didn't have to search for parking.

8. So sure, visit the downtown area (Union Sq etc) by day and then escape back to the Marina and Pacific Heights on one of the many trolleybuses which serve the streets near the hotel - # 30; #41, #45 ($1.50 a ticket at time of writing).
