1. In Kappa a mile or so down the road on the left is a restaurant Country Kitchen with really good food reasonably priced.

2. The Coconut Marketplace, located adjacent across the hotel parking lot had good food and great prices on souvenirs and a general store for anything you forgot to pack.

3. Excellent location to whale watch (in season) There is a Costco and a Wal-Mart if you need to buy food or find reasonable priced gifts.

4. The Coconut Market which is right across the street from the hotel is a great place to get Good food and was reasonably priced.

5. I highly recommend Kalapaki Joes in Lihue (near Kalapaki Bay), The Hukilau Lanai at the Kauai Coast Resort next door to the Islander, and the Fish Hut (fast food but very good) at the Coconut Marketplace across the street.

7. Rooms have a small, stocked kitchenette so you can save $$ on food costs if you're staying any length of time.

8. The Coconut Marketplace is in front of the hotel so you have easy access to shopping, food, gifts, etc. Dont miss out on the ice cream stand in there.
