3. The lobby was lovely, and the staff at check in were so helpful with restaurant recommendations, etc. Our room was beautiful and comfortable: the furnishings were of top quality and lovely and comfortable, which is a rare combination.

4. A miniscule oversight at my midnight check-in was quickly and politely corrected and I was given a generous restaurant voucher to account for what was really a minimal inconvenience.

You can order off a limited food menu for half the usual price--dishes like salmon and chips for $3.25!--so a nice dinner for two with a couple of drinks can be had for under $30 between 5 and 6 p.m., allowing you to save your money for a more extravagant lunch at Elliott's Oyster House or the Blue Acre or any of the other terrific restaurants nearby.
