1. Walking distance to the start of the race, the french quarter, trolly, etc. I gave this place 5 stars because the value was incredible due to the low cost, great location, friendliness of the staff (very accommodating) and a hot breakfast each AM.

2. They let us check in three hours early, and check out 4 hours late, which is also so helpful (at no cost to us) - most hotels would charge a good amount.

3. While checking out, I heard the manager talking on the phone with someone about discounting the parking fee but I didn't pursue discounting ours considering that we were able to leave the car in the garage after checkout time and because we thought the total overall cost of our stay was reasonable.

9. What I really appreciated was when the hotel staff sent my son's writing journal back to our house (priority mail and at no cost to us) when he forgot it in the nightstand of our room.
