1. He thought it was because the window don't have screens but the bites are consistant with bed bugs.

2. There are no screens on the windows (problem), the windows lead right out to a fire escape (problem), the windows don't lock properly (problem), there is no air conditioning (problem), room smelled and there appears to be a bed bug problem.

3. I would advise future travelers to reconsider saving a few bucks and think about the uncomfortable and rather creepy consequences of staying in a room with bed bugs.
