1. I cannot figure out what locked the faucet in position, but the maintenance person fixed it without using a tool while my back was turned, and, to boot, I noticed him quietly taking the time to clean hair out of the drain so that thing worked smoothly.

2. It's a good thing we did it ourselves, because that way we had not worn out our welcome when it became necessary for us to call the front desk to get maintenance to come up and fix the bathtub faucet handle that broke in the 'on' position.
