We stayed here May 11,12, in room 1603 and I have to say we were happy not
like
other ones we have stayed in.

I'm 6' shower hit me mid chest unless I bent over; pillows seemed to lack any filling, almost
like
sleeping without one; towels and washcloths varied from somewhat fluffy to threadbare.

I don't know San Diego at all but it seems
like
this hotel is in a bad part of town.

The walk to our room was amazing (tons of flowers, palm trees, and plants, it almost felt
like
a secret garden maze).

The first thing I noticed after checking in was that their room keys were old motel-
like
keys (believe it or not this has a lot to say about this hotel because a MOTEL is exactly what it ended up being).

This hotel is also rather far away from the downtown and other attractions
like
the zoo.

They didn't serve any hot items and the selection of other items
like
muffins and bagels was also very limited.

When we drove up to the hotel we were nervous because of the cinder block barracks-
like
exterior, but when we walked in the gate we were astonished to see beautiful landscaped gardens and a well maintained courtyard.

If you don't arrive until after 9-10pm on the first day of your reservation (or, say, 1am that night,
like
we did), you will automatically be charged for the first night (on the card you reserved the room with, regardless of what you pay with).
