1. We aren't used to paying quite so much for a hotel room of this quality, but it was Jazz Fest week and it was new Orleans.

3. Their guestrooms probably had flat screen TVs, new furniture and perfect amenities, but I was so glad to return each evening to the more human scale of the Lafayette for shrimp at Mike's on the Avenue or a quiet drink in the bar.

8. I'm guessing they are on the new green conservation program which I think does tax breaks for hotels, so the air doesn't run when you are not in the room I don't think.
