1. The hotel offers valet parking but enough free parking can be found on the street within easy access to the hotel.

2. I was fortunately able to find free parking on the adjacent side street, which was more convenient for me than the current daily $22 hotel parking fee.

5. Valet Parking: Someone mentioned parking around the corner for free, but I prefer to valet park at Avenue Plaza.

6. There are a couple that have free parking, but if it's free, you have to park your car yourself, usually in an adjacent garage.

7. Also, the Jean Lafitte Historical Society's free tour of New Orleans is excellent, as is the Garden District tour by Historical New Orleans Tours.

9. The concierge comes on a bit strong with the offer of a free riverboat dinner cruise in exchange for enduring a time-share presentation (although he's only doing his job and took 'no' for an answer the first time).
