1. Why there were vacancies is beyond me--the hotel was very reasonable (think we paid under $200/night), they provide both breakfast and dinner, the rooms are HUGE, and the staff was as warm and friendly as almost any other non-Ritz Carlton hotel in which I've ever stayed.
