1. Things like the television and telephones and work desk area were brand new and state of the art, but the accoutrements, like the lamps and coffee table in the sitting area and the nightstands, were fancy antiques that added even more luxurious charm.

2. Check in was fast and simple and before we went to our room, my brand new husband and I took a wee detour to look at the interior of the French Room and the commemorative photo of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh from their visit in 1993.

3. The Adolphus is an historic hotel (built in 1912 by Adolphus Busch of Anheuser-Busch fame) in a fabulous Beaux-Arts style and it fits into the landscape of tall buildings of downtown Dallas like a transplant from a much larger city, like new York or London.
