5. Which is it? If it is corporate policy, I will avoid Marriott hotels and inform the professional organizations to which I belong of this policy, so they can avoid Marriotts for conference bookings.

7. The staff is courteous and friendly, but some staffers appear to be college students (from the nearby UC campus) who don`t have the professional attitude of regular Marriott personnel.
