5. Across the road from the hotel is a good selection of eating places - much cheaper than the strip, plus a useful food store, gas station and pharmacy -- everything you could need.

8. in fact, I'd say it was almost easier to do all these things because if you know your way around town, you can get there much quicker (and cheaper) than you can just by going up and down the strip taking a cab or the Duece (bus).
