1. The Meridian seems like it could make for a really great stay in Vegas, with its convenient location, 2 gorgeous pools and lovely plantings on the grounds, the suites themselves tastefully turned out with nice furnishings.

2. You already end up doing so much walking when you are on the strip and valet parking is free (just tip $1-2 when your car is returned), it just seemed more convenient.
