4. There is easy access to freeways to get you to Santa Fe or other beautiful northern New Mexico locations.

We also drove to visit Acoma Pueblo (which was about 70 miles west, but definitely worth the drive as the countryside was beautiful), Ice Caves, El Morro National Monument, Bandelier National Monument, Jemez Mountains and Valles Caldera National Preserve (please do not leave New Mexico without seeing these last three things).
