1. As others have said, the area around the hotel is undergoing major restoration work and a new Marriott hotel is being built in front of the hotel causing some noise, which wasn't an issue for us (we could sleep without any problem until at least 8-9 am).

4. The hotel is also facing a huge renovation site for a new hotel, I know that can't be helped but that was not a nice view.

7. ' The area east of the hotel, is a very mixed bag of boarded up buildings and old housing structures, within only one block, and then it is dominated by the new convention center.
