1. Excellent, safe location (right next to the China Gate) and nice room (except for the clawfoot bathtub shower with the wrap around shower curtain, but then everything can't be perfect).

Good - great location (so close to chinatown & union square), comfortable bed, decent size rooms (we were there only to sleep), renovated bathroom, decent priceBad - very noisy from the garbage truck pick up from outside (for the 2 nights we were there), the heater was making weird noises - it was an old gas oil heater, the room is quite old except for the renovated toiletTip:* Just in case you check in late, the front door shuts at 9pm but there is someone there.

10. We booked this hotel at one of the cheapest rates available in the city and for this money the hotel ticked all the boxes, except one - we were not lucky and got the room by the elevator shaft, so it was really noisy, but otherwise - Baldwin is in the perfect safe location at China town gates and 5 minutes walk to Union Square, the rooms were spacious and nicely decorated, the bathroom was clean with nice set of shampoos etc, the service was very helpful too.
