1. Best of all, the hotel was located in a safe and well-travelled neighbourhood, only a short walk away from two subway stations (51st Street, and 53rd St - Lexington Ave), a 24-hour Duane Reade pharmacy, some fantastic shopping areas, and many cafes and restaurants.

I'm dividing this review into positives and negatives for an easier read: Positives:- fantastic rate (off season, January, in middle of winter, almost 1/2 of other NYC hotels in area)- great location (for me anyways) subways were about 2-3 blocks away including the 'E' train that takes your from/to JFK airport and also takes you to the 9/11 Memorial (breathtaking is all I can say about it about memorial).
