Our children, boys - age 12,13, were more interested in the beach waves than the pools (some posts indicated that they didn't like that children under 18 couldn't swim in the pool near the beach), but we used the family pool on our way back from the beach to refresh ourselves after the salt water after rinsing off in the showers by the pool.

7. The Wailea Beach villas are privately-owned condos that are rented either though the owners directly (vrbo) or from the management company (Destination resorts) or, in our case, through wholesalers like Expedia.

8. You don'tget the sound of waves lapping the shore at night like say the Kaanapali Beach Resort but you're also not staying in a relic from the 70's.

10. I prefer a condo or house over a hotel because I like to cook in and not have to eat out every night and this place fills my needs.
