7. If I had paid twice what I did, I might have expected them to shine my shoes on the way out the door, but for a middle-class American that paid a good price, I was very impressed and couldn't have asked for a better stay.

8. I've stayed in much, much better hotels for similar rates such as the Hyatt Regency in Scottsdale (during off season) and the Gaylord Palms in Orlando.
