4. The lobby and lounge were reasonably clean and somewhat passable, but the elevators, hallways and especially the rooms were very dirty and in need of massive refurbishment (or better yet gutting).

5. Since we were only passing through for the night and looking for a couple rooms just to get some sleep between stops, I figured Crowne Plaza was a safe bet for a comfortable, clean and reasonably priced stay.

6. I could tell it was not one of the redecorated rooms because the furniture had worn edges and the bathroom looked older, but it was clean, the linens were nice, and it looked like the carpet had been replaced recently.
