We're on a road trip from San Francisco to Miami with two young children and are being sensible with money, we've splurged on some nice hotels and to give you an image of who we are as travellers we are a white middle class English family who were travelling with a car full of expensive electronics and kids Xmas presents.

2. Our only real complaints were that there was a very expensive surcharge if you wanted wireless internet, the breakfast was very limited most days to just cereal and toast and juice or coffee, and the area was a bit on the shady side of San Diego.

3. I had thought San Diego to be quite expensive but this hotel offered really clean and furnished rooms, prompt services and great food at very affordable rates.
