However, after discovering how
bad
this place is, we checked out and stayed for about 5 days at the very nice Inn at Penn, a Hilton, which is just a few blocks from the hospital.

bad
weather and several stages of surgery I`ve had to go through, we have been very thankful for a hotel so close that we could stay the night and be ready for surgery early the next day.

I should have known better after reading the review that called this 'an embarrassment to Penn', but I decided to stay at Penn Tower in March, 2003 because I really wanted to be close to HUP, and figured that something owned by such a fine University could not be so
bad
.

While the hotel is centrally located, the rooms are in very
bad
shape, with wallpaper peeling, cracked sinks and tubs, stained carpet, questionable pillows and sheets, and general nicks and scratches all over the doors.
