There was some
noise
above us in the late night and early evening coming from travelers lugging their stuff up the stairs (no elevator), but nothing my ear plugs couldn't fix.

Between booking an inner room, and wearing earplugs, I wasn't bothered by the
noise
at all.

- The only
noise
issues we encountered were people stomping up the stairs or standing directly outside of our room talking loudly (normal speaking voices would likely go unnoticed).

* The windows did not let in as much
noise
as I'd expected.

My only real complaint was the
noise
from the street; Divisadero is a pretty busy thoroughfare, and for some reason the
noise
from the vehicles seeped right through the wall.

In reality, the room was weirdly shaped, the couch was gross, and the bed made so much distracting
noise
that it discouraged us from having sex.

I was relieved to get one of the interior rooms (104) that was neither on the street or over the garden cafe and we were amazed how quiet it was, considering another guest who wrote a review the same weekend commented on the
noise
the same night we were there.

The management can't control that the hotel is on a main street, but they could probably supply curtains (rather than blinds) or better glazing on the windows to contain the
noise
.
