1. Flight path from IAH is nearby, but turning the AC unit to the 'On' position provided good white noise, so no problem.

2. Overall - excellent hotel at a great price and very convenient for the airport - on the negative side the road noise is noticeable (but not on the 3rd niight as I got some ear plugs) - I can recommend this hotel.
