1. The lack of air conditioning was a bit of a surprise but then I learned nearly all of Seattle doesn't have a/c, but they provided a fan.

4. The positives (location, cost, charm) outweigh the negatives (obnoxious-to-hostile front desk 'service' on check-in, room not cleaned until an hour after we checked in, lack of shelf space or towel racks or hooks in bathroom, room key that functioned randomly).

5. This recenlty renovated hotel is clean and comfortable, but lacks any luxury ammenities that a major name modern hotel will offer which was fine for my wife, daughter and myself.
