1. We had some bad luck with our trip due to a large storm that stayed over the islands the whole time and led to the cancellation of lots of our plans, but the Garden Island Inn was the best part of a not-so-great trip.

3. The bad news: the hot water pipes run under the tile floors and keep the rooms very warm (nice in Vermont during the winter - suffocating for Kauai even when it is cool in October which it was when we stayed there).

4. I recently stayed in one of the non-air conditioned units at this motel, and it really wasn't bad for mid-July.
