1. Very friendly and helpful staff at the front desk, also at breakfast, and even the crotchety old gent they sent to fix my TV was nice (when it turned out, of course, that the TV was not broken.

2. When we first checked in on the 7th, the room assigned had broken glass on the floor from a lamp that had apparently been smashed by an angry maid? or someone.

The staff was friendly, patient and helpful even though I was bach at the reception 4 times in 20 minutes (had to switch rooms because the A/C did not work - not a problem at all; needed a LAN cable for the free HighSpeed Internet; needed a new key card for the room with the broken A/C since I forgot my car keys.
