1. Upon check-in I was greeted by an extremely friendly clerk who made the experience great from the begining, although it quickly wen't downhill from there.

Thorough and professional in his presentation and demeanor, he guided us through the check-in process, helped us in directing some particulars during our planned stay - especially with regard to a couple of local trips in the area we needed to make with a four year old in tow, and generally well represented the Vagabond Inn so that we will make accomodations there on our next visit to the San Diego area.

Pluses:- Let me check-in early (10:30am)- Waffle continental breakfast- Great service/staff- 2 good-sized pools- In-room amenities (mini-fridge, microwave, coffeemaker)- Great location, close to freeway on/off-rampsMinuses:- Non-smoking room reaked of smoke and as I walked in, my neighbors were smoking in their non-smoking room with (at least) the door open- Walls/floors are paper thin- Sub-par bed & bath linens (even for a motel)- Free Wi-Fi was bogged down and slower than my old 56k modem used to beOverall:Given all the competition around, I'd assume I'd be getting more bang for my buck.
