1. There are street people everywhere in San Diego, including about a block away from the hotel, but I never at any time felt any kind of threat from anyuone, exactly the opposite.

4. For example, The Marriott Residence Inn right down the street has better rooms, offers breakfast and a light dinner, and has a pool too.

5. Both of us our good sleepers, but if you are not, I'd recommend asking for a room NOT near the stairs, and one that faces the courtyard as opposed to the street.
