Since we did not have a vehicle, using the free shuttle bus from the hotel to the airport offered us the opportunity to ride the MAX

and spend the day enjoying the city of Portland.

I had a rental car and was able to drive about a mile to train station to go
downtown
and other attractions - which was much better than trying to fight traffic adn paying to park
