1. What a lovely hotel, situated fantastically right near the metro link and bus stop for all the places you want to visit, downtown LA including Union square, Santa Monica and Venice beach areas, Hollywood Blvd for the walk of fame and Universal studios, you can get a $5 metro day ticket that is fantastic value.

4. The hotel is out of the way in the event you want to go to Beverly Hills, Santa Monica beach, Venice Beach, but as I mentioned above, is close to a bus station (the ride to Santa Monica Beach from the Santa Monica/vermont bus station took 1 hr, we took the rapid bus), and is close to Hollywood Blvd which is where you'll catch the Kodak Theatre, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Grauman's Chinese Theatre.
