1. The walk to the convention center is only 7 blocks and there are lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance.

3. As for the area, downtown Houston has a few less-than-polished blocks and, yes, several of them are near the hotel, but there was nothing that would make the average, reasonable person feel unsafe during the day and we enjoyed an easy walk to Minute Maid Park (less than a mile away).

4. If you are planning to take in any of the attractions in the downtown area the hotel is within walking distance or you can catch the Metro rail at the station half a block away.
