Centrally located, clean and safe area in

The rooms were quiet even in a
downtown
location.

But you don't sacrifice anything in terms of convenience to
downtown
-- at the Hampton Inn, you're still directly across the street from the Convention Center, and just four blocks or so from Nationwide Arena, and from
downtown
.

Having spent some time in Columbus, I'd say this location seems so far superior to all the other hotels in the city -- balancing convenient access to work
downtown
and to leisure in the Short North -- that I can't imagine why one would stay anywhere else.

Parking is expensive, but its like that everywhere
downtown
, so its not that big of a deal.

Nice place, clsoe to everything
downtown
, nice staff, clean rooms, don't stay on the south side of the building as its next to the bar with outdoor music until late at night.
"In Short North, across from Convention Center, good restaurants, and Arean Grand District and BlueJackets. "

I had to take a quick trip to Columbus for a meeting
downtown
, and the Hampton Inn and Suites was the best deal for a 3 star plus hotel in the area, so I booked it.

Perfect for a stroll or bar-hop after a busy day -- and unlike in the
downtown
area around the Capitol (where most other big hotels are), in the Short North they don't roll up the sidewalks after dark.

Would recommend for the independent traveler who needs a safe place to stay in
downtown
Columbus.
