If a luxury hotel is a '5', then this place is still a '4' Pro: great location (6 blocks from cool "Uptown Whittier") charming host couple clean, s pacious room with nice furniture refrigerator and microwave inexpensive cost (motel web site is cheaper than travel services, however) Cons: No pool, and none nearby internet is wireless, but low speed (11 mbps wireless-b) bucket of ice costs 50 cents, when machine works "breakfast" is vending-machine pastries and coffee handed from 1-room office tiny towels and soap, and tiny sheets don't fit the bed.

7. I should have known I was not in a great hotel when the TV remote was kept in the key box in the office and handed to you with the room key.
