Finally, he never showed me my
dinner
(ie, lifted the covers on the various dishes to explain what had been brought), as the gal had done the night before, and as is always done in nicer hotels.

I asked him to please open the wine and he mumbled something about there usually being a "cheap, plastic opener" in the room already (I had ordered a bottle of wine the night before with
dinner
also, and the gal had treated me as if she were tableside at a restaurant, as it should be).
