1. area is close to wild animal park and legoland but not that close to sea world and san diego proper and there are no restaurants that close by.

8. The location of the Welk is a little out of the way if you are doing activities in the San Diego area, so you will need to plan you trip accordingly.

9. As for being kid friendly, they have pools, waterslide and a playground, but little else in the surrounding area.

10. We spent most days at theme parks in the area, and it is about 35 minutes from San Diego attractions and about 1 hour from LA attractions, so a good compromise.
