If you plan to stay at the lazy river most of the day, I suggest heading down there around 7 am, when they open the river, and 'reserving' a cabana with towels, beach bag, etc. They are occupied each day on a first-come, first-served basis, and it's wonderful to have some cover when the Texas heat reaches 100 degrees plus, as it did every day we were there in July-August.
