7. The location is a little NW of the main tourist attractions, but walking is easy and public transportation is everywhere.

8. There isn't too much in the very immediate vicinity - this is the businesss district which was pretty dead on the weekend, but the hotel is centrally located - we walked from the Amtrak station (25 min), to the Art museum (15 min), Franklin Inst.
