1. ) the only flaw in this hotel is that when redecorating to make it modernized 50's modern (it's authentic to CA architecture of the time and has been nicely redone) they've kept it a bit pared down, compared to modern standards for a luxe hotel - it could seriously use some indoor/outdoor runner carpets on the exterior walkways to dampen the sound, some sort of greenery (such as railing planters) on these walkways overlooking the pool, and a bit more lushness overall by the pool etc - essentially, the entire building is cinderblock and hard surfaces, and the decorator would do well to distract from the functional feel a bit more completely by covering those blocks.
