1. He wasn't very nice about the situation, but let me stay after looking at the note from the clerk from the previous day saying she had approved my late check out.

2. I asked for and was given a late check out by the woman checking me in, but the next day a different desk clerk called my room and was very stern with me saying I would have to pay extra if I stayed late.
