The bathroom/shower, while clean, were of the cheap motel variety.

Your front door opens to a nice patio/balcony surrounded by lush green lanscaping with mature trees in a quiet part of town.
There are other greener methods you might not notice but which the hotel has detailed in a lengthy pamphlet -- vinegar and baking soda used in cleaning, chemical-free red cedar used for the balconies and stairs, emission-free paint, a few solar panels, etc.We liked the alternative options at breakfast: kukicha (twig) tea, tasty rice and beans, maple syrup and local honey, hot whole-grain oats, fresh fruit and organic yogurt.

The suite was a nice two-story design.
The staff told me it was because all the rooms were booked up, but the more obvious explanation was the groupon I used is only good for one-bedroom, and they were reluctant to let me stay in the two-bedroom suite, even though they had made my stay the worst ever experience I've ever had by giving me a broken-AC suite in the first place.

The bed was so comfy that I slept the best I had in months.
Bed was not top quality but not uncomfortable.

The sofas, cabinets, bed and dressers were new, though the fridge, stove, dishwasher and bathroom fixtures are not -- but using things that seem dated is in some ways better than sending still-usable appliances to the landfill.
Bathrooms feel creepy and unclean because of it.
